Planning retirement.need suggestions on how to eliminate truck payment?

bugear001 asked:

I have a truck payment of $574. I owe $21K and the truck is worth $18.5K. Are there any options for me other than paying the note down to the 18.5K and selling, or letting it go back to the finance company?

Don’t sell the truck just because the loan is more than what its worth! Everyone goes through that when they buy a new car.

Hang on to the truck, and make your payments. If you sell the truck you will lose whatever you may have put down, not t o mention, you’ll need another new car anyway.

Pay more than you owe every motnh and you will pay less in the end, unless you have a prepay penalty attached to the loan.
